¼«ÀÖÊÓƵ’s Future of Corporate Communications study examines the current state, evolution, and forward focus of the corporate communications function and communicators' leadership role in today’s multistakeholder universe.
This year, we set out to understand just how much progress has been made by communications leaders and theirs functions as they work to advance along the continuum, becoming strategic partners and advisors to the CEO, the broader C-Suite, and the Board of Directors. For our 2023 study, we surveyed more than 200 C-level or equivalent senior-most communications executives from Fortune 500 and Forbes Global 1000 companies, as well as conducted more than 20 in-depth interviews, to discern the state of play and near-term future of the function.
Communications leaders have cemented their place as critical strategic partners.
Communicators inform and guide enterprise decision making from a central position as a connector.
The enterprise agenda is driven by a new multistakeholder dynamic, which CCOs and their functions manage from the inside out.
Communications leaders will be at the center of shaping the next phase of stakeholder capitalism.
In case you missed it, our previous 2021 Study mapped the state of communications immediately following the upheaval, complexity, and changing stakeholder expectations that accelerated during the pandemic, revealing communicators’ mandate to become an indispensable partner driving measurable business value.
