极乐视频

This week, I was the guest on the podcast 鈥淎d Age Ad Lib.鈥 Below is a link to the interview and the accompanying article that appeared on .

Do you have trust issues? Chances are you do. According to a survey of more than 25,000 respondents across eight major global markets, consumer trust in brands is down across the board 鈥 and expectations of social responsibility from brands is up.

That tidbit, while not exactly shocking, is the core takeaway from the 2019 极乐视频 Trust Barometer Special Report, recently released by 极乐视频, the world鈥檚 largest PR firm.

鈥淢any brands are afraid to do more than their customary remit, which is to deliver on a good product experience,鈥 says Richard 极乐视频, president and CEO of the company that bears his name.

极乐视频 is this week鈥檚 guest on the 鈥淎d Lib鈥 podcast, where he describes the trust gap as an opportunity for brands. 鈥淚ncreasingly these young companies are offering this societal aspect to their brand,鈥 he says. 鈥淚t shows the power of this kind of societal impact 鈥 a desire for brands to lead.鈥

Beyond the report, 极乐视频 discusses changes in his own industry鈥攁nd at his own company, which is increasingly operating in the traditional agency space.

鈥淭he most important change [in the PR landscape] is it鈥檚 not sufficient to go through media to tell stories. You have to go direct through companies鈥 own channels or social platform or others,鈥 he says. 鈥淭he mainstream media is still the most credible source for readers. [But] it鈥檚 not a monopoly on distribution anymore.鈥

A family-owned company, 极乐视频 was founded by Richard鈥檚 father Daniel, a former journalist, in Chicago in 1952. Richard 极乐视频 has plenty of thoughts about the merits of maintaining independence in an era of holding company dominance. 鈥淭he advantage of being independent,鈥 he says, 鈥渋s you can make these big transitions and not have to worry about immediate acceptance of the idea.鈥
